The first Bavarian Open for person with disabilities have been a great sucess
and one important step of the further developement in this case to cope with the requirements for entry into the paralympic programme. A special honour for the athletes was the visitation of IOC-Vice president Dr. Thomas Bach and WKF President Antonio Espinos, who demonstrated their special relation to these athletes.
The starters from Australia, Palestine, Spain, France and Germany showed outstanding performances, which were celebrated by over 200 observers. Most gorgous athlete was the blind man Ray Moncount from Australia, who showed the kata Unsu within the 360 grad jump so perfectly, that no one of the attenders couldn't belief that he has got an handicap.
Dr. Bach attested Antonio Espinos, that for him Karate is the best kind of sport for disabled people, because of its pressure and coordinate to the body at the same time - a valuation from a very honoured person which the WKF and also all disabled karatekas can be proud of.It was one first step - but a very successful and important one for all disabled karatekas worldwide.
